Stream of Consciousness

Stream of consciousness. Brain dump. Engaged. Discipline is freedom. Freedom is not just doing whatever you want all willy-nilly. This is a paradox or conundrum. People tend to think they are free when they just do whatever strikes them in the moment. This is not true. We as human beings can become slaves to our passions. Disciplinary action is freedom. This is the conduit for free will and personal autonomy (more paradox). The more we deny our passions the more free we become. Fasting is a good example of this. If you can control when and what you eat you can basically control any aspect of yourself or mental faculties. This does not mean that we do not leave room for change or audibles. Make plans. Be disciplined. But when all hell brakes loose wing it. As you develop a system of curtailing your own passions you will reach a flow state. This is when your brain enters into various creative brainwave oscillations like gamma. When we enter gamma we can tap into the great source of the universe and create abundance in our life almost like magic. This is all accomplished through rigorous self discipline. Do a silence retreat. Embrace fasting. Don’t drink or do drugs for an extended period of time. Take cold showers. Participate in Lent or Ramadan. This will awaken your inner creative force and allow you to commune with the Divine.

Have a nice weekend,

Nathan Box
Hello! My name is Nathan. I've always believed I would meet that special someone in one of two places; either a record store or a book store. Maybe I need to amend? I moved to Seattle in February of 2011 from Oklahoma City (Try and not hold the Sonics/Thunder thing against me). I knew I wanted to work for a nonprofit and go to grad school. Within a couple of months, I was doing both. During the day, I work as a Fund Developer and Community Relations Manager for a nonprofit in Kent and at night I try to stay as busy as possible volunteering, trying new restaurants, finding hidden bars and exploring Seattle. The past few years has been both terrifying and exhilarating. I have done things on my own I didn’t think were within my capability. I love being outdoors. On any given weekend, I can be found hiking, on a road trip, volunteering, at a museum, seeing a movie (I see a lot of them). I am passionate about nonprofit work. I feel called to leave a mark on this world. Nothing against those who enjoy making tons of money, I just need to know I am making a difference.
