Accelerator

Nothing but a quiet weekend before us.  

We don’t have much money.  

There is no plan.  

But we must escape these four walls.  

Head North!  

No real destination in sight.  

No red pin on the map.  

The mountains in our backyard were more than enough.  

We drove for hours.  

Windows down. Music playing.  

Vistas stealing our attention.  

Everyday should be like this.  

All things must end.  

Holding this memory will have to be enough.  

I promise I won’t forget.
