Journaling July 2021

7/30/21

Next week, I return to California for a wedding and some time in San Francisco. I couldn’t be more excited.

7/29/21

Yesterday, I had one of those conversations that could change the direction of my life.

7/28/21

I wish the best minds of my generation were focused on saving the planet instead of getting us to click on an ad.

7/27/21

Delegation is not leadership. Collaboration is.

7/26/21

I am passionate about ending homelessness and need to direct my energies toward this aim.

7/23/21

I am in a “for the long haul” relationship with an introvert. I think I deserve a medal and so does he!

7/22/21

My soul is feeling restless.

7/21/21

I am not happy standing in one place for very long.

7/20/21

Only a lucky few are permitted to chase their calling.

7/19/21

I need to get back to the world of homelessness. That is where I need to invest my talents.

7/16/21

I’ve decided to significantly reduce the amount of meat I eat. I am challenging myself to not eat any meat before dinner. Thoughts and prayers, please!

7/15/21

I feel nothing today. That’s not weird, right?

7/14/21

I’ve been getting up at 5:30 to work out. Pack your multiple bags, Fat!

7/13/21

I’ve worked hard for the things I own, but if I am not careful I will find myself worshiping my stuff.

7/8/21

The travel bug is currently biting me pretty hard.

Be good to each other,

Nathan

Nathan Box
Hello! My name is Nathan. I've always believed I would meet that special someone in one of two places; either a record store or a book store. Maybe I need to amend? I moved to Seattle in February of 2011 from Oklahoma City (Try and not hold the Sonics/Thunder thing against me). I knew I wanted to work for a nonprofit and go to grad school. Within a couple of months, I was doing both. During the day, I work as a Fund Developer and Community Relations Manager for a nonprofit in Kent and at night I try to stay as busy as possible volunteering, trying new restaurants, finding hidden bars and exploring Seattle. The past few years has been both terrifying and exhilarating. I have done things on my own I didn’t think were within my capability. I love being outdoors. On any given weekend, I can be found hiking, on a road trip, volunteering, at a museum, seeing a movie (I see a lot of them). I am passionate about nonprofit work. I feel called to leave a mark on this world. Nothing against those who enjoy making tons of money, I just need to know I am making a difference.
