Band: The Besnard Lakes / Song: “The Last of the Great Thunderstorm Warnings”

I will always have a soft spot in my music-loving heart for an epic song pushing beyond the boundaries of a normal radio-edited length of 3 minutes and 30 seconds. At 17:53, “The Last of the Great Thunderstorm Warnings” by the Besnard Lakes is gigantic in size, ethereal in scope and mesmerizing for its production value. It checks so many boxes for me as a music fan. I find it meditative, grounding, and without weight. Its vibe is everything I love about those bands that continue to experiment and tinker in the workshop.
