Cinephile No. 625 "Passengers"

I am so thrilled to see a sense of imagination has returned to the space travel movie. In my mind, it all began with Christopher Nolan's confusing, yet inventive "Interstellar." "Passengers" picks up where that film left off but refuses to make the same mistakes. The plot is easy to follow and you don't have to be a theoretical astrophysicist to understand the science behind it. Thanks to the chemistry between Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence our attention is held while they occupy the screen alone with nothing more to interact with than the ship and a hilarious android. It even features a few surprises that will keep you guessing until the very end. If this is the direction space movies are to go, then I am all for it.

Be good to each other,

-Nathan
