Astounding Beauty

There have been numerous times in my life when I have found myself gazing deeply at a valley, a river, a major body of water, a mountain... In those moments, I fumbled to paint a picture of the astounding beauty before me. Words cannot describe the experience nor can they express how small I feel. I am perfectly content with this feeling even though I pride myself on my ability to express emotions with just the right words. 

In these moments, I strive to capture the mood with a picture, though it rarely does the vista justice. I find myself marveling at the creativity of man or the work of billions of years. Capturing the faces of strangers may be the idea of art to some, but for me keep it simple. Tie my tongue. Force me to come to terms with the scene and elicit the emotion. These are the moments I will cherish forever.
