Steve Carell in "Foxcatcher" plays one of the creepiest, most desperate characters I've ever seen in a movie. His character wants so badly to be accepted, admired and feared. To achieve this aim, he sets out on a mission to prove his patriotism and love of country. This boils over into an effort to revive American wrestling. Using his immense wealth, he recruits top talent. Channing Tatum plays a naive athlete who is blinded by the opportunity. Carell, acting like a father figure, takes advantage of the situation. Here is where the push and pull lies. Most won't find this movie satisfying. There are no heroes here. All are guilty of something, you know, kind of like real life.
Thanks for entering my world,
