My Dad

We've all heard the saying, "Any man can father a child, but it takes a man to be a dad." I am evidence of that truth. My dad is not biologically mine. Our D.N.A. isn't shared. I am his due to the law and a change of my last name. 

What we do share is much stronger. We love to laugh. We love politics. We love to travel. We are fascinated by world events. We love a cold beer on a hot day. We are loyal to our family. We love our friends, as if they were family. We are honest. We are kind. We learn, constantly. We treat others with respect. We are the ones people turn to in times of trouble, even if all they need to hear is a good joke. We are a myriad of things, but above all else, we are filled with love. 

Yes! I am my father's child.
