Beyond just being a thank you present to fans, it is also a tip of the hat to those metal bands all of us alternative and folk listeners are afraid to adopt. From beginning to end, this album ranks as one of Wilco’s heaviest and loudest. This new sound makes you pay attention. It also proves that this band is capable of anything and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
