Democrats and Republicans agree on something; lobbyists run Washington, D.C. Of course, they disagree about whose lobbyists are actually leading to the ruination of America. With all the talk of this profession, we, as the American public, know very little about how they work. Beyond, "Thank You for Smoking," Hollywood has done very little to pull back the curtain. "Miss Sloane" pulls back the curtain in "House of Cards" fashion to show us the ugly underbelly of our nation's capital. As we begin to see "how the sausage gets made," we realize lobbyists have the profound power to press interests good and bad. Of course, these terms are relative to the side of the aisle you most often find yourself standing. In the end, this might be the ultimate lesson of this film.
